The beauty of this grill is you don’t have to know anything about grilling. All you have to do is select what you’re going to grill and the OptiGrill knows based on the thickness, because there’s a built-in sensor, how long to cook that meat or that seafood or that sandwich, whether it’s rare, medium or well-done.
It will tell you by a wonderful color wheel and an audible beep. It’s restaurant quality every single time!
You don’t have to decide the temperature, what do I do, how do I do it. All you have to do is put your meat on and then it will do the audible beep and the color: when it’s rare, it’ll be yellow, when it is orange, that is medium and when it is red, that is well-done.
But it also beeps so you don’t have to sit and watch the color wheel, even though it’s fun to do. If you’re off setting the table or you are getting your salad ready, lighting the candles, pouring the wine, whatever it is you’re doing, you can hear the beep and turn and look at the grill and see “oh it’s orange”, that means that it’s medium, I’m gonna wait because I like it well-done and then you wait for it to be red and it will beep for you and tell you.
What happens when you grill outside and you’re cooking chicken, steak or burgers. What do you have to do to find out if it’s cooked? You open up the lid. And then you cut into it and you release the juices.
You will never have to do that with the OptiGrill. It is gonna do it all for you.
You can cook frozen food too! You just hit that little snowflake button. If it’s not frozen, you just leave the snowflake alone. Then you choose your function. There are six pre-programmed functions: burgers, poultry, sandwiches, sausages/pork, red meat and seafood.
There is also a manual button. This is what sets this grill apart. You hit it four times. One if you just want to do it on warm, hit it twice and it will turn yellow and that means it is low, hit it three times, that’s medium, it’ll be orange and hit it four times and it will be red for well-done.
Once you choose your function, you hit the OK button and you’re done.
This is the OptiGrill Plus and the different levels of temperature was a new update. And then there’s something else that makes it plus. It’s the die cast aluminum plates with the actual T-Fal nonstick coating.
The grill has a built-in sensor that detects the thickness of your steak, of your pork chop, of your chicken, whatever it is you’re cooking, and it knows how long to cook it based on the thickness of your food and the dial that you selected. That’s so brilliant. As I mentioned, this is like having a chef on your countertop.
The grill itself is 15 inches by 9 by 16, so it can fit on your countertop or it can fit on your kitchen table. This is your indoor grill and you are gonna plug it in.
All the fat that we don’t want to eat, that we don’t want in our body, that we don’t want our food sitting in, is gonna go right down into an extra-large drip tray. That drip tray is dishwasher safe as are the die cast aluminum plates. But I will tell you, with that special nonstick, you do not even need to put them in the washer.
With this grill, we’re using a lot less butter, if any butter at all. I’ll be perfectly honest with you. There are some recipes that you’ll find in the book that say to spray your grill plate, but I will tell you that’s still less than the pad of butter you might put in a pan.
This is 1800 watts of power. But don’t forget, you’re not only grilling from the bottom, you’re also grilling from the top. So it’s super fast cooking.
The reality is that you’re going to get restaurant quality every time.
